Conceptual Challenge

When you're teaching an almost one year old to self-feed, it's challenging to explain why she's being encouraged to put a piece of banana, coated with crushed Cherrios (it's easier to pick up a slimy banana, if it's coated in something not slimy) in her mouth, but vehemently advised against putting into her mouth a piece of cat poo, coated in cat litter. The world is a confusing place.
